We are deeply saddened to announce that our Founder and President, HRH The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, died this morning at Windsor Castle at the age of 99. We send our deepest condolences to HM The Queen, HRH The Prince of Wales and the wider Royal Family. His Royal Highness was a passionate advocate of polo at Guards Polo Club for more than six decades and his wise counsel will be much missed by our Chairman, Board of Directors, Players, Members and Staff.
The UK is now in a period of official mourning which includes the closing of Windsor Great Park for all commercial activity. So all polo is cancelled at Guards Polo Club until Friday 23 April 2021. We thank you in advance for your support at this difficult time and we will keep in touch with you all with regard to a date for restarting matches when allowed.
In the meantime, the Chairman and Board of Directors will meet to discuss how best to pay tribute to such an outstanding man without whom Guards Polo Club would not exist.
