As well as the 12 polo fields at Smith’s Lawn and Flemish Farm, Guards Polo Club also manages the two polo grounds at neighbouring Coworth Park. These excellent fields are situated in the grounds of Dorchester Collection’s luxury country house hotel, Coworth Park, just five minutes’ drive from Guards Polo Club, and giving the Club access to additional, high-goal grounds.
Not only does the Polo Office at Guards Polo Club schedule an array of matches on these fields throughout the season, but Coworth Park has its own series of tournaments too. These include the Valerie Halford Memorial Trophy in the spring, the 18-goal Indian Empire Trophy in the summer and the late summer’s Coworth Park Challenge Trophy tournament.
In addition, Coworth Park is also the location for the Guards Polo Academy, which offers a range of bespoke tuition packages for experienced players and beginners of the game alike. Guards Polo Club’s playing members receive discounts on tuition and Guards Polo Club also hosts fun yet informative Introduction to Polo events, in conjunction with the Academy, for its social members throughout the season.
