The Duke of Cambridge took to the polo field today to play in the
Out-Sourcing Inc. Royal Charity Polo Cup at Guards Polo Club, to raise awareness and funds for eight charities supported by The Duke and Duchess
of Cambridge.
The Duke played as part of the U.S. Polo Assn. team
alongside Aiyawatt
Srivaddhanaprabha, Clive Reid and Mark
Tomlinson. The opposing Thomas Goode team was formed by Louisa Farrington Watt,
Abdulla Boulsien, Second Lt Cadogan and Jack
Richardson, with the BP Polo team made up of Joevy Beh, James Beh, Simon Arbour
and Hugo Taylor.
In an exciting round robin format, it was the U.S Polo Assn team who won by two goals over the Thomas Goode and BP Polo teams to be victorious for the Out-Sourcing Inc. Cup.
Charlie Mayhew, Chief Executive of Tusk, commentated on behalf of the charities: "We are immensely grateful to The Duke for choosing to support the charities today. It has been an extremely challenging period for all charities and the funds raised from this event will provide a welcome boost to enable all the beneficiaries to continue their vital work."
Out-Sourcing Inc’s David M. Matsumoto said: “Out-Sourcing is honoured to sponsor today’s charity polo match. Knowing that this polo event will raise much needed funds for eight incredible charities aligns perfectly with the company’s own charitable ethos. Out-Sourcing focuses on creating platforms to highlight and support charitable endeavours across the world, including here in the UK.”
